Chana Dal Burfi is one of the popular traditional Indian recipes. Chana can be used to make various different namkeens and sweets like Chana Dal Moth, Chana Dal Halwa, Chana Dal Kheer etc. In India, chana dal burfi is a very common and delicious dessert dish in festive seasons. It is delicious and at the same time nutritious. It is very easy to prepare and can be stored in refrigerator easily for 3-4 weeks.

- Chana dal (Split Bengal gram) 250 gm
- Sugar 200gm
- Ghee 100gm
- Raisins 10-15 pcs
- Cashew nuts (chopped) 10 pcs
- Green cardamom powder 2 teaspoons
- Almonds (sliced) for garnishing
Boil and grind the chana dal
Wash the chana dal properly and soak it for 4-5 hrs. Then take the soaked dal and boil in a cooker with minimum water for up to 1 whistle. After whistle cook it on a low flame for 2 minutes or until it becomes soft but the dal will remain intact in shape. Now grind the chana dal in a mixer without water and make a smooth , tight paste.
Cook the Chana dal in a pan
Heat ghee in a pan take the grounded dal along with the sugar in low flame and continuously stir it. Once the sugar gets completely dissolved into the milk, add the raisins and continue to cook it. When it becomes thick add the cardamom powder and turn off the flame and pour 1-2 tablespoon ghee from the top.
Garnish with sliced almonds
Now take a plate and grease it with some ghee and pour the mixer into the tray, garnish it with sliced almonds and let it cool. Once it gets totally cool cut into preferable shape with a knife. Enjoy the burfi.
