Chili chicken is a famous Indo-Chinese dish. It is very easy to prepare. This spicy chili chicken serves well as a side dish with Plain rice, Fried rice, Paratha or Naan.
Prep Time 25-30 minutes
Cook Time 15-20 minutes
- Boneless chicken 500 gm (cut into 1inch pieces)
- Egg white 1
- Corn flour 3 tablespoons
- Soy sauce 2 tablespoons
- Green chilies 6 (chopped)
- Garlic paste 2 tablespoons
- Pepper powder 1 teaspoon
- Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Chicken stock 2 cups
- Vegetable oil 1 cup
- Salt to taste
Marinate the chicken
To marinate the chicken, take a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon corn flour, salt, egg white and the chicken pieces and give a proper mix. Allow it to marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
Fry the chicken
Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the chicken pieces till golden brown.
Make the gravy and add chicken into it
Take another pan, heat oil and add garlic paste and green chilies and sauté for few seconds. Then add the chicken stock and make it boil and add sugar, pepper powder, salt, and remaining soy sauce. Let it cook properly. After 1 minute add the fried chicken pieces to it and cook for few minutes. Dissolve the remaining corn flour in ½ cup water and add to the chicken and stir continuously. Allow it to cook for more 3-4 minutes.
Better serve with naan, paratha, or fried rice
Now chili chicken is ready. Serve hot along with Fried rice, Paratha or Naan.
