Honey Chicken Pasta

Pasta is a traditional Italian cuisine. But we, the Indians prepare it in our own style. Using Indian ingredients and veggies, pasta has now become our daily table-friendly dish. Today I am sharing with you a very healthy and tasty pasta recipe, using honey, chicken and pasta.

  • Pasta 1 cup (1 cup = 250 ml)
  • Chicken 250 grams (boneless and cut into very small pieces)
  • Onion 1 (small size and chopped)
  • Carrot 2 (small size and chopped)
  • Green capsicum 1 (small size and chopped)
  • Beans 4 (chopped)
  • Green chilli 2 (chopped)
  • Honey ½ cup
  • Tomato ketchup 2 tablespoons
  • Szechwan hot sauce 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil 3 ½ tablespoons
  • Ginger powder 1 ½ teaspoons
  • Black pepper powder 2 teaspoons
  • Vinegar ½ teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves (chopped)



Marinate the chicken pieces

In a bowl add the chicken pieces along with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper powder, ginger powder, vinegar, ½ tablespoon of olive oil and mix all the ingredients properly. Marinate the chicken for 10-15 minutes.

Boil the pasta along with all veggies

Now in a sauce pan pour 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Add some salt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil when the water starts boiling. Mix well. Then add the pasta and after 2-3 minutes add all the veggies and cook them al dente. Then drain the water completely. Reserve some ½ cup of water.

Fry the chicken pieces in olive oil

In a pan heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil. When the oil turns hot, add the chicken pieces and fry them until they become light brown on both sides. Drain on an absorbent paper and keep aside.

Prepare the sauce

Now in the same pan add the honey along with ½ cup of the reserved water in low flame. Stir it and when the mixture starts making bubbles, add the hot sauce and ketchup. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add the pasta, veggies and chicken to the sauce and garnish with coriander leaves

Now add the boiled pastas and veggies to the sauce and mix properly. Then add the chicken pieces and if there is liquid then cook until it becomes thick. Then sprinkle some black pepper powder. Mix well. Then switch off the flame and pour to the serving dish. Garnish with some chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
